News: Saving a pinky with PubMed

When the slam of a door chopped off the tip of her pinky, doctors told Deepa Kulkarni nothing could be done. She did her own research and proved them wrong. This CNN article is an excellent example of the power of information to further health care. It describes how a patient’s persistence and PubMed research paid off. It also provides a good storyline and reference for legislators when discussing the importance of funding for NLM and the NIH public access policy. Click here to read the story.
