Books Panel Seeks Volunteers for Project Working Group

The MLA Books Panel aims to release a publication on the “Best of Conference” following MLA ’11 in Minneapolis. The goal of this publication is to provide additional opportunity for MLA members to pursue authorship and to increase dissemination of research and best practices in health sciences librarianship. The Books Panel is currently seeking individuals with expertise in one or more of the following areas, to participate in an informal project working group:
• Judging quality of conference abstracts and/or presentations
• Ranking significance of research and its relevance to professional practice
• Editorial process and tools
• Publishing process and tools
Volunteers will work on a compressed timeline to develop preliminary publication guidelines and may assist with selection of potential authors from MLA ’11 program, under direction of the MLA Books Panel. Interested individuals should send a brief CV and description of relevant expertise to: Kristin Hitchcock, MLA Books Panel Chair, at Hitchcock@aaos.org . Please reply by October 15th.
