Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Library is accepting applications for the position of Senior Medical Librarian for Public Services

Summary of Essential Job Duties:

• Expert subject knowledge appropriate to medicine, healthcare, and information technology,
• Strong service orientation, and excellent analytic and problem-solving skills,
• Demonstrated proficiency and capabilities with personal computers and software, the Web, and library relevant information technology applications,
• Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate and manage projects,
• Understanding of appropriate, cost-effective technology for data/information collection,
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a production oriented environment and to adjust workflow to service needs,
• Demonstrated ability to work creatively, collaboratively and effectively as both a team member and independently to promote teamwork among colleagues,
• Insight and knowledge for adding value to the results of research,
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills,
• Excellent teaching and presentation skills,
• Demonstrated ability to supervise professionals and non-professionals,

Educational Requirements:

Master’s Degree in Library/Information Sciences from an ALA accredited institution and a minimum of 5 years of professional experience, or a comparable level of education and experience.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of increasingly complex experience in a medical library environment.
