It is with esteemed privilege that we announce that MLGSCA has received the 2015 Majors/MLA Chapter Project of the Year award for the second year in a row! In November 13-15, 2013, our chapter participated in an outreach project to promote information on the Affordable Care Act to public and community college librarians attending the Arizona Library Association (AzLA) Annual Conference in Scottsdale/Fountain Hills, Arizona. MLGSCA members collaborated with CABL volunteers to distribute a list of ACA web resources, plus MLGSCA tote bags, notepads, and pens to conference attendees. As a result, our chapter gained exposure to about 40% of conference attendees as well as developed relationships with a the regional library chapter in Arizona.
The award will be presented at the MLA’15 Austin, Texas, “Librarians without Limits” Awards Luncheon on May 18, 2015. Thanks to all who have participated in the success of this event!
